One thing we really love about cooking from the garden is seeing how a very simple meal can come to life with fresh, tasty produce. This recipe is an excellent example of that – a few simple ingredients topped with fresh Sage from the garden – easy and delicious for those busy weeknights or lazy weekend lunches.
Sage & Mushroom Tart

Ingredients
- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 cups mushrooms sliced
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup of sage leaves
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- In a medium pan, heat the butter on medium-high heat. Add the garlic and mushrooms and saute for 3-5 minutes, until the golden brown.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and olive oil together.
- Place the puff pastry sheets on a baking paper lined tray. Brush with olive oil and egg mix.
- Top with shredded cheese, mushroom mix and sage leaves. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place tarts in oven and bake for 15 mins or until cheese is melted and edges of pastry are golden brown.
- Garnish with a few extra sage leaves.
